PRX and TED Expand Audio Partnership
PRX and TED have announced an expanded partnership in the audio space. PRX, along with their podcast sales firm Soundrise, will now serve as the official sales partner for the entire TED Audio Collective, which includes popular podcasts such as “TED Talks Daily” and “Design Matters with Debbie Millman.” PRX will continue to act as the distributor for TED’s podcasts. This collaboration aims to enhance sponsorship opportunities and reach for the TED Audio Collective, enabling brands to connect with engaged listeners across multiple platforms.
Coleman Launches Pod Predictor
Media research firm Coleman Insights has launched Pod Predictor, a service for podcasters to test concepts pre-launch. It surveys 1,000 podcast listeners in the US and Canada to determine the appeal of a podcast concept. Respondents rate show titles and elevator pitches on a 1 to 5 scale and indicate their interest in downloading the content. Pod Predictor aims to provide valuable insights for podcasters, allowing them to refine their marketing message before launching. Results are delivered with breakdowns by age, gender, ethnicity, geography, and category interest.

SemaBOX Launches Wazo Podcast Distribution Platform
Kenyan media company SemaBOX has launched WAZO, a podcast distribution platform. WAZO aims to empower African podcasters by providing them with a direct earning avenue through plays and advertising revenue. The platform, available for free under the Wazo ONE plan, allows podcasters to monetize their content and gives advertisers access to an audience of over 39 million listeners across the SemaBOX creator network.

In the latest financial report, Spotify disclosed a significant setback of $41 million in podcast-related write-offs, primarily attributed to contract terminations.
