Pocket Casts Gets Put Up For Sale
Looking to capitalize on the flurry of deal making in the podcast industry, the four public media companies that own Pocket Casts have decided to put their listening app up for sale. Pocket Casts has been owned by NPR, New York Public Radio and Chicago Public Media since May 2018. The group then took on BBC Studios as an ownership partner last March.
Apple Rumored To Launch 'Podcasting Subscription Service'
More evidence has emerged of Apple’s plans to launch a podcast subscription service. According to 9to5mac, Apple is “discussing launching a new subscription service that would charge people to listen to podcasts,” but it’s “unclear when—or whether—Apple will launch the new service.”
